Residents say they have coexisted with the sex workers since the 50’s, but say the situation has deteriorated so much that many fear going to work in the morning or taking their kids to school.

“I was walking home, and I got a notification on my phone that someone was at my door and it was someone’s backside hitting my ring doorbell while engaging in intercourse,” one neighbor told us on camera.

Other neighbors provided surveillance video showing sex on top of cars, in English basements, and sex workers beaten by men in their driveways.

“The federal government implemented FOSTA and CESTA which were two bills that wiped out sex workers ability to earn money online,” Talarico explains. “When those online venues closed. It became impossible for sex workers to work indoors,” Spellman adds.

Spellman says the women come to Logan Circle for safety and money. Spellman estimates on a good morning, a woman earns about $1000.
