I would agree with your friends concerns. I have never visited a transsexual Domme but I do know a couole and have had conversations with them where they bitch about the fact that just about every client expects sexual contact, whether it is making them suck the Dommes cock or do strap-on activities except with the real thing.
Honestly, I think that would be a large part of the appeal to someone who is going to see a Pre-op transsexual rather than born-female Domme although I can't speak as someone who has that desire. TS Mia (of Dallas) does frequent this board sometimes and has been working as a pro for msny years. She is probably a great person to reach out to. I have heard she is an excellent Domme and I don't believe she offers those kinds of services either.
