I have used NF to chat up professionals in an informal manner. Since they have a listing and call rate, I do not feel like a "time waster" getting to know if we may be compatible. Or just getting to know them period. And we appreciate this! It also helps to ask questions about changes in the scene, since I have not sessioned as much as I did when younger. (payment processors, screening, directories, contact protocol, etc.).
Not everyone has a current website in this day and age. We appreciate this as well, though I think every serious pro should have a website at this point. The internet has been a thing for over 25 years now, and you no longer need to know how to write code; there are really good interfaces to build your own. So, if you've got maybe a one to two hundred to buy a domain and hosting package, you really have no excuse.
