I survived this round on Twitter. My account keeps nipping up at 10K folllowers, but as many of my followers are dommes of all flavours, I am watching them fall off the map with suspended accounts.

Just like Instagram (I was unceremoniously deleted) and the BackPage crisis of 18 months ago, this could send the industry spinning again. I am not worried myself--I never depended 100% on social media, though many do. It is not if, but when all of our accounts will go *poof*!

Where will we go next? Social media (technically BBSs are social media, but more old school) is a nice way to see many dommes at once--what they are doing, getting a sense of our personalities, watching us banter across oceans. The OnlyFans and the many copies of this model are a format of content providing rather than community. What will we do?

Of note I noticed most of the suspended accounts seemed to be automated tweets from NiteFlirt, OnlyFans, Clips4Sale, AdultWork and the like. Interestingly enough these sites have become completely dependant upon dommes promoting their own profiles. They provide little or no promotion. (Clips4Sale being the exception, but still not great.) These companies and dommes dependant on online gigs will be harmed the most, IMHO.

Nobody I follow has gotten clipped yet. I guess they are just smart .

Lets go back to IRC!

Make the players learn some tech skills, make em earn the ability to talk to a domme.

I read some articles that agreed with what I wrote. Dommes who use too many auto posts were locked. You probably follow dommes who post something rather than constant "I am on cam now" posts.

Now that I think of it, the prodommes I follow don't really use any autoposts beyond an occasional ( very occasional ) onlyfans post. Most of them have something interesting to say so I follow them.

A lot of adult workers were using Twitter as a spam engine with all the autoposts and not engaging anyone. Others that were particularly "porn-y" and also not really engaging except spats with subs and other dommes. Then I understand too many of certain #'s flagged someone. I was never good at the # game and most of mine are tongue-in-cheek, which may have spared me.

I also have a dedicated work number attached to my account and am "verified" in that respect.

We will see. I like twitter, but am happy to hang out here and FetLife and just pay for my ads.

I have seen accounts that are nothing more than feeds.

Your theory about accounts that are mostly those, but occasionally non-auto and antagonistic being the first to go is interesting.

I guess we shall see.

I had heard about the purge but didn't think too much of it. I was asked to verify my account via text during this time. Several of my colleagues were too. Is there a specific article that you read about the auto tweets and other flags? If so, I would love to read it.

Switter was all the rage during the last big scare but most of us abandoned posting there once things settled down on Twitter. I guess we could all go there. However, I just logged in to make sure it still existed. It's still around and usable but I got a message that they had disabled new sign ups until they dealt with spam issues.

I saw it on this Vice.com article and my antidotal experience seems to back it up.

It would appear AVN Stars is the new Switter because one can monetise it. I am considering trying it, but I will probably wait to see if takes off. I already had a NexoCams, OnlyFans, JustForFans and a members site. All of those are ending up being a distraction rather than a "side gig."
