Ah yes, I totally agree with you. All sex work, and especially domination has a therapeutic use. I certainly don't want to belittle the phycological and emotional benefits.

I am saying, however, that legally and societally we will have very different challenges than a therapist/psychologist/psychiatrist.

Perhaps we could flush this idea out in another thread.

Hopefully FOESTA and SESTA (sp?) will go away someday, but I don't see how. It seems like it would be political suicide for any American politician to bring it up.

Queue the true, but tired argument about the stupidity of trying to eliminate something that has been with every human civilization since we had them. Better just to legalize sex work so it can be properly managed and regulated.

This is actually very much on topic.

We need to band together to change the way we are perceived instead of shaming each other.

I remember joining Max Fisch in '98 or '99 and the arguments there about who was a "real" Mistress, whores-with-whips and all that were very contentious based on fear of prosecution. As someone who has been around awhile I've met strict Mistresses in dungeons and in private, escorts that do role-play, masseuses who handle some fetishes, female bodybuilders that are dominant and do a bit of everything (or nothing), and strippers who are kinky.
