I am always honest on this board... sometimes to my own detriment
(especially considering Who sometimes reads things I post and then uses them against me at some future date when I am within reach... and yes, I am talking about YOU Goddess Samantha Muscle and Your Hooters outfit)
So, I must admit that I actually have had a twitter account specifically dedicated as my own personal "porn feed" for at least the last 5 years. Has had zero effect on how often I do sessions though.

Social Media certainly affects how one is tantalized by possibility. Masturbating to twitter, websites or other attractive feeds does not happen for me and cannot come close to replacing and in person encounter.
Having said that, a twitter feed or Mistress blog especially - a real story, journal entry or writing, does provide masturbatory material for afterwards - when I can imagine a scenario with the Mistress in question.
What keeps me from a session is funds or fear. Fear, not of the Mistress, but of the psychological terrain the encounter requires I tread on. The tweet or blog or picture or profile is seductive bait that stimulates the giant, "What if"?

However, I do think that some ladies "give too much away" on Twitter and I think that is what you are driving at. People can sit in front of Twitter and get a not stop stream of pretty much any kind of kink and porn - if they don't mind the non-stop begging for money.
