The title has nothing to do with marital status.

The title (like Goddess or Domina or many, many others) is an honorific that is used to show respect. It is something the Domme herself chooses and each Domme has their own rules about what are the acceptable ways to address that particular Domme (I know of many who hate being called Mistress and will severely reprimand or punish you for using it).

As Mistress Ayn stated it has nothing to do with marital status or even anything specific beyond what that Domme decides for herself.

No, no, you got it all wrong. Mistresses are dominas who session exclusively with married men. Thus the title Mistress.

As in: "can you cover for me this evening? I need to sneak out to see my Mistress". You know.....

Ps: I stayed away from this board so long that I forgot my exact login name. Since I had changed email I had to create a new account. Embarrassing...

I am afraid mistresses almost never live up to their name. Seriously speaking it is the feminine of master.
