"Airbnb Admits Ownership of AI Technology That Targets Sex Workers, Others"

There's mutterings around this...to whom will they sell this technology? Where is this going? The article is speaking in reference to pornography, which is legal, yet here we are.

AI bots are taking over the world. Imagine a future scenario in which you are a defendant in a court case and your attorney, prosecutor, judge and jury are all bots fighting the case out among themselves according to the algorithms of unnamed mad legal minds. Just a cheerful thought.

I have heard some nightmare stories (actually just one) about an AirBNB property being used to shoot porn and the place was left a biohazard wreck. There is actually a reality TV show called AirBNB nightmares and watching it made me sick.

Often times everyone gets thrown out with the bath water as being guilty by association.

My real curiosity is how they would know a person was associated with porn (or for the sake of this board - a Dominatrix) if they used their legal name to book and that name is not associated with social media, websites, etc. I have a friend that did some contract work with AirBNB and I have forwarded him this article to get his take on this question. I will report back if I have an update.

Hi Mistress Ayn,

It's probably photo identity matching tech.
So someone, somewhere, had a database of "adult" pictures, to check against.

Another reason to blur out your face.

The technology, face recognition exists already and it is already used by the state in China. It is a matter of time. Somehow I doubt that the will to use it in this particular context will exist for a long time. There are more attractive targets for the politicians.

Oh, you don't have to tell me! I'm convinced robots will be our downfall; can't stand AI. Just gave away an echo dot we were given for Christmas. Our phones are bad enough, I don't need a little Amazon robot spy listening all the time.

Oh, I wish I were more surprised about the messy renters. One reason I am still debating renting out the Parlor is the horror stories I have heard (along with those about equipment theft!).

I do believe it is photo recognition of some kind. At the end of the article, there is an example of a performer trying to sign up with her legal name and being kicked off the site.

Looking forward to any feedback you get from your friend!

No Domme should use Airbnb under any circumstances! The owners can and do, record in any area of the property.

Yeah, these "smart speakers" kind of freak me out. I have heard of some using them in the dungeon and I would not be okay with that. I don't find the convenience a fair trade off for needed privacy.

Sorry for the delay in this. My friend was pretty adamant that they are not using face recognition technology - yet. He says it is all tied to the name, email addresses, phone numbers, and other details you give about yourself. That information is then run through this "system". Which underscores the importance of keeping all these things separated.

I once had a client that told me he did gay porn. He gave me his stage name and invited me to look it up. I promptly forgot the stage name but knew his real name and when I put that into google it brought up some of his videos. Oddly enough I couldn't find where his real name was listed on those sites so I am not sure why it brought it up. Since these actors have to provide 2257s and ID when they shoot it's very easy for their real names to become exposed.

Certainly not for sessions; that's true! This is happening even for civ bookings on performers' vanilla accounts, which is surprising people.

I personally prefer to be recorded as little as possible, but civvies' lack of concern over some things baffles me. Like, hookup culture: bringing someone home without screening??? I definitely had friends get robbed in college after a one night stand. I even have a friend who wants to be chipped!! It's like that Black Mirror episode (Netfl|x) with the "grain" implants; creeps me out soooo much!
