MF - WOW

It now defaults to godaddy, as pending expiration or, deletion. I just never thought this day would come. Why didn't they sell it when it was still worth something? What is invaluable, on a sentimental level, is the history of the posts. But, well, here we are and, those of us who want to be so, still together.

In any case, my gratitude to DominaMs for this forum. In my retirement/traveling/kidsincollege years, I couldn't have pulled it off. I am so happy this forum has been set up so well.

I am afraid the content is gone for good. Many years of history lost forever. I stored a few hundred pages (at the low speed) including some of yours and scotomata's.

The domaninmame will be for sale sometime during the next year. GoDaddy owns it until 7/26/2020.

I saw the godaddy screen this morning. I agree - wow. It’s sad. All those old threads and posts gone. I’d like to reread a lot of stuff plus some old PMs. MF was a great site. Lasted a long time but change is inevitable. Hopefully 10 years from now this site will still be going strong and have its own community and history.

And so it goes... it was a hell of a run. If anyone ever made a copy of its database one could write book(s) about the scene from the late ‘90s to this year.

I only hope many of our friends from over there find us, and come on over.

This listing from whois only says that GoDaddy is the registrar, not the owner. What am I missing?

Really strange. Just went in and it's back running fast as it used to! Yesterday it was slow as hell to come up, then load. Gremlins?

As a masochist I've consensually been subjected to some diabolical torture and loved every moment of it. But, this MaxFisch mind fuck has me close to screaming my safe word.

I'm happy to see it not die, but I'm pissed at it at the same time.

I have domains on godaddy and they report the same as MF. To me it just looks like they may have switched registrars, not that it's expired or pending deletion.

Possibly someone purchased it....Either way, it looks like whoever spent the money decided to look at the server and address whatever was bogging it down.

Has to be the same owner, otherwise the old content would be gone together with our accounts.
