This is not intended to be a slight in any way.
What you perceive depends on what you already know AND your point of view. And I suppose your ability to collect seemingly useless facts.
I have heard statements in a broadcast news and I knew the reader had no clue as to what [s]he was saying.
I have also heard straight forward statements, that were interesting but not very useful in isolation even for my scientific background.
For the past 1 - 2 decades I have heard science news stories about the advance in gene splicing etc. For the anti GMO folks this would be a horror story. For me it is just another tool in the scientific arsenal.
So the rapid development of COVID vaccines is simply a next step.
For the GMO folks. Can you imagine the horror in the single cell primordial goo when the first two cells merged into a two cell thing.
Perhaps the horror was well placed. The end result was humans who are doing a bang up job destroying the place.
