When I am at the gym and I tell people I am a photographer, they don't believe me

Ha! Maybe you are a photographer in your private life but based on your look and attitude in the pix I have seen of you online you'd have to be blind not to know your real calling. A tip of the cap to you... and the people at the gym.

Outside of those who are in the scene, no one believes me, which is fine with me. The cliche of a dominatrix, Bettie Page hair, tattoos, dysfunctional controlling personality doesn't apply to me at all. When I do tell people what I do, I usually have to explain the broader aspects of BDSM. It generally works in my favor as no one suspects I am doing anything out of the ordinary.

Tangentially, it happens every so often that I will be with my friends and feel I am sharing a nonchalant story about my work day. Only then to look up at a wall of faces in shock, who totally forgot I pee on people on a regular basis.

Only once do I recall not being believed. I was in an adult toy shop doing a "forward" for a public humiliation scene I was going to preform there later in the evening. When I told the shop clerk what I was and what I was planning on doing in his shop, he was absolutely shocked. I remember him saying "but you look like a Buckhead book club kind of bitch". I replied, "I am, but I am also a Dominatrix."

In general when I tell people, they are just curious. Some have questions. Some don't. I have to explain to most that Dommes don't have sex with clients - for some reason most vanillas have that all wrong.
