I have a hard time understanding why many in the Professional Domme community are enthralled by AVN. Perhaps it's like the old adage, "Actors want to be singers, and singers want to be actors."
I believe the porn industry is arguably the sleaziest, enterprise on the planet. Maybe I'm old fashion, but I hold Professional Domination to a much higher standard!

Goddess Lynx, AVN is the Adult Entertainment Expo-Con in Las Vegas. This year they are advertising the attendance of 1,000 stars from the adult industry.

Hi MRW. I don't personally know anyone in the true porn industry so I can't speak on its sleaziness. Like you, I have never seen the appeal of attending. It's just another example of the blurring of the lines. Dommes like you and me don't seem to be able to hold back the tide.
That being said, some of my Domme friends have been and said they had a good time. Evidently there is usually at least one fetish/kink party. To each his own, I guess.

I am 200% with you on this. It takes a lot more to be a Dominatrix than a plain SW. Yes a Dominatrix can be a SW. And I am a vertebrate. This is technically true but it is not the best description of me.

It's another opportunity for video producers to do some shooting. And, for the pros, another opportunity to make themselves available for sessions in Las Vegas.
There's not much in the way of dungeon environments in Las Vegas, but there seems to be plenty of work for visiting dommes who can do their thing in a hotel room.

Possibly. Regarding Vegas sessions, I see a lot of Dommes traveling there in the past couple of years. (And I am posting this more for other Dommes reading this than I am for you OwwitHz ;-) The little feedback I have heard is that there is not much volume, so I think they mainly go for fun and try to get in a few sessions too. It's a very flakey town. I lived there for almost 10 years and never hung out my shingle. I considered it many times but the lines between prostitution and domination were so blurred and the tourists have such a "#hit all over the town and leave it because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas attitude" that I felt it was a danger to be a Pro Domme there - and I would have had to open my own dungeon because there were absolutely zero facilities.
My two cents - sorry for hijacking your reply O.

My two cents - sorry for hijacking your reply O. Mistress Ayn, been to Vegas for business more times than I care to remember. People think that prostitution is legal there. It is not. I did session with two ladies on separate occasions, one on multiple occasions. I was a regular there and in NYC. Both were female bodybuilders. The appointments were always at my hotel, both were into role play and domination. Very good sessions, both into kink. They lived there and were very discrete. I'd meet them in the lobby by sight without talking and get them onto the elevator. For a couple of years AVN was held during another convention I attended. I walked the floor once, saw a couple of porn stars in black leather holding whips. While the "scenery" was nice, after about 15 or 20 minutes I got "outta" there. Not my thing.
