I don't think so. Porn on videocassette just seemed natural - everyone had a video cassette player, and you no longer had to go to a peep show or have an 8mm film projector to watch it. It came around at the right time, and was easily extended to computers and on-line streaming then it was time.

At this point in time, VR requires special hardware. While it's possible to get into it for fairly modest cost, it's just not very convenient to use. You can't just watch VR porn (or VR anything else for that matter), you have to put on your goggles, fire up your computer, and by then you've probably lost the mood.

About the only thing I've read about regarding VR porn is a production technique that allows you to virtually touch the model in the video and she'll move to respond to your touch. My name understanding is that AVN only exists because of CES. Originally the adult industry was a part of it but in a separate area of the convention, then when CES kicked out the adult vendors AVN established their own separate convention that happened to run at the same time in Vegas. Eventually, AVN moved to several weeks later and CES started letting limited adult products back in.
