Most of my early sessions (over 25 years ago) were with "mature" Dommes and I loved them all. A lady in her early 60's was my first professional Mistress and she led me into a wide variety of wild experiences. For that I am forever grateful. When she found it a "chore" to keep doing sessions, she retired.

And, in reply to Komodo's last question, I have to ask these days if you can trust anyone under 30!?!

A dominatrix should retire when she wants to. That's it.

Some people's prime is later in life. I really wish we didn't devalue women because of their age.

I know more than a few dommes in their sixties who are amazing and elegant.

To be fair, the dommes in their 20's twerking on Twitter look just as stupid.

I am a little late to the party on this topic but I am an over 40 Domme and thoughts of how long I will be able to continue do occur to me from time to time. No disrespect to you Ms. RoseWood but I think domination is very much an older woman's arena and I sometimes wonder what the 20 somethings are thinking when they twerk and do very undignified things. The most ridiculous thing I have seen is an under 30 "Domme" offering life coach services. Really?

Real domination is as much mental as it is physical and life experience helps provide a mental sophistication and confidence that I didn't have as a younger woman. Attraction is important but there are so many more layers to domination.

That being said, I think a ProDomme should retire when she is no longer relevant. I just hope I have the good sense to know when that is ;-)

I completely agree that seeing an older Domme trying to emulate the younger ones is a bit pathetic. There are so many ways an older Domme can stay relevant. Twerking is not one of them.

I too, used to wonder if I would have an expiration date in my industry, but I no longer worry about that being the case. I think there will always be a place for young dommes in the world that puts youthfulness on a pedestal. You don't really have to do much, just, you know, be 25. (I sometimes wonder if the whole bratty thing is a fetish or something guys put up with to be around young women.) Most the time these types of dommes do not age well.

Intelligence, compassion, and confidence really make a domme and I find in my 40's I am better at cultivating these traits. I see dommes in their 60's and it is apparent I still have some learning to do.
