I notice that certain dommes state on their websites that they require a two-hour minimum for new clients. Some may feel that they need that much time to get in tune with a new client. Others, I fear, particularly newcomers to the biz with less experience, would rather not bother getting dressed up for less than $500. I wish I had a job like that.
