FWIW I differentiate between humiliation play and degradation.
Humiliation leaves me cold but I find being "forced" to perform degrading acts can be a great concrete demonstration of a Domme's power. Reinforcing the idea that I am helpless and completely at her mercy really adds to the scene for me.
