Why is it that when you pay for a pre session call to discuss an upcoming session that you don't get a full hour or 2 hour session? Session rates have sky rocketed but to start the clock the minute a clinet walks in is not right. Shame

I don’t see a problem with starting the clock the minute someone walks in but imo the session should go for the agreed on time booked. Granted sometimes a session just naturally ends early but you should still be able to talk for the remaining time before being expected to leave.ive done a lot of sessions over the years and the Dommes I’ve seen have different approaches and attitudes towards the time frame. I think for the most part most have been fair and some even generous with their time. It sucks if you are constantly being shorted especially after a paid phone consultation.

Well said and good for you. My last 3 sessions not so well. I don't mind being charged for pre session phone call but when they go over the same thing we discussed over the phone at the beginning of a session and use that time against me drives me crazy. One professional Domme posted something on Fet saying if a client wants an hour of play book 90 minutes with her. It is such turn off.

This is one of the reasons I don't session much anymore. I've had a few dommes end a two-hour session after an hour and 45 minutes. When I asked, they said they needed to get ready for the next client. I didn't totally believe it, but I didn't feel like making it an issue.
At this price-point (NYC rates), dommes should be giving the full time. I understand that pre-session conversation starts the clock, but ending early is taking advantage of the client.

Are these shortened sessions in rented or private dungeons? When renting from someone there is pressure to get out and have the room ready for the next rental as soon as possible. Cleaning time for some is included in the client's hour.

I know many dominas who start the clock when the client enters and the domina is still in street clothing. You want a session with a latex domina? Well 20 minutes of your hour will be her wiggling into a catsuit.

Everyone is free to do that, but this is a business of limited clients and one cannot survive without regulars.

I often include the preamble, 3 minutes or so, and aftercare in the client's time, sometimes with a run over, but it's my place and I do as I want.

I just raised my rates but everything has gone up including my tax rate (45% now ), but I don't think skimming 15 minutes here or there will somehow save more money.

More recently I've had it go the other way, actually -- a couple of times leaving a session with one person I've looked at my watch and seen that I spent way over the session time in the dungeon. This is one specific person I've seen four times, though.

There was another domme I saw regularly until she retired. Someone known on the old Max Fisch boards as a heavy sadist. I'm not in that league and our sessions were still always very good. One session I came in very stressed about work and other things, and I told her that at the top of the session. The session was only about 45 minutes, and I noticed that in the moment but didn't say anything about it. After I got dressed she said we should talk, and she spent 15 minutes talking to me about ways that I should reduce stress, sharing some personal things about herself -- it's now one of my nicest memories with a domme.

I had a somewhat similar situation. I knew a Mistress who travels to NYC once a year, and for a couple of years I would session with her at a hotel suite. We got along well, but you had to make an app't a month in advance because she was so popular - and still is. Two days before the session I got called into a meeting at work, telling me I had to layoff two people from my staff, even though biz was good. The entire staff was great, no lousy employees. I was angry, depressed and not in the mood for a session.

Not wanting to disappoint the Mistress I went to her hotel that Saturday, we discussed the scene briefly, she went into the bedroom to get her leather on and told me to get ready. But I couldn't. Thought about work and when she came back I told her to keep the tribute, I was in no mood to stay. She said, "Don't leave, I'll be right back." She came back in a robe, told me to tell me what was wrong, and I got a bit emotional. She hugged me like a mom, telling me it would be alright, rocking me back and forth. There was no session. At some point I thanked her and said I should get going. She helped me with my coat, put her hands on my shoulders and looked me in the eye, saying, "Feel any better?" I immediately smiled, she grinned, kissed me on the cheek and gave me a big hug.

I left with a whole different attitude and felt great. That one of my best memories with a Mistress. (P.S. - The following Monday I was able to convince management that a layoff in my group wouldn't be wise.)

I feel your pain. I've learned there are givers and takers in life and in business. Dom's are no different.

I've been with Dom's who have been in no hurry, and Dom's where it felt like I was being given the bums's rush. Probably we've all felt this way.

But perhaps no-one has felt this way more often than the Dom's themselves.

I suspect we're all paying for the sins of our Brethren who attempt to take advantage and waste a Dom's time.......thus creating a situation where every minute is scrutinized.....especially if you are new to her.

I'm a guy who watches every dime, so I can appreciate that shitty feeling after being bamboozled. But I believe there are far more Dom's who are givers than takers.
