I had a somewhat similar situation. I knew a Mistress who travels to NYC once a year, and for a couple of years I would session with her at a hotel suite. We got along well, but you had to make an app't a month in advance because she was so popular - and still is. Two days before the session I got called into a meeting at work, telling me I had to layoff two people from my staff, even though biz was good. The entire staff was great, no lousy employees. I was angry, depressed and not in the mood for a session.

Not wanting to disappoint the Mistress I went to her hotel that Saturday, we discussed the scene briefly, she went into the bedroom to get her leather on and told me to get ready. But I couldn't. Thought about work and when she came back I told her to keep the tribute, I was in no mood to stay. She said, "Don't leave, I'll be right back." She came back in a robe, told me to tell me what was wrong, and I got a bit emotional. She hugged me like a mom, telling me it would be alright, rocking me back and forth. There was no session. At some point I thanked her and said I should get going. She helped me with my coat, put her hands on my shoulders and looked me in the eye, saying, "Feel any better?" I immediately smiled, she grinned, kissed me on the cheek and gave me a big hug.

I left with a whole different attitude and felt great. That one of my best memories with a Mistress. (P.S. - The following Monday I was able to convince management that a layoff in my group wouldn't be wise.)
