In recent months I have witnessed several really hot scenes with wax play, including a performance piece where the whole audience got up and added a layer of wax to the sub. It was oddly spiritual and communal.

I have some dusty old play candles in the back of my sensation play drawer, but every time I think to pull them out I remind myself how messy they are. I put down pads, but cleaning bits of wax out of crevasses and creases is up there with glitter being dumped all over the place. Has anyone mastered less disruptive wax? Are there any great cottage candle crafters I should be aware of?

Just me here, feeling super old school in leather with chains and wax.

Hmmm, come to think of it, I have played in professional scene for 25 years, and have never been waxed. My current domme of 11 years in NYC - we have done alot of stuff, ALOT, but never wax play. Maybe that's why??? Since she controls the scene, I can not say for sure. She is fabulous at planning and executing a scene - top notch.

But, if you want to play with wax and don't like the mess, could you do it as an outcall - so if it gets a little messy, its at the hotel and not in your space? Or do it in the bath tub, if it fits the mood and flow of the scene. Or lay down a drop cloth (or plastic) or tarp, and just wad it up and throw it away after done.

You probably know all of this. But just in case you didnt, just trying to be helpful.

Wax is on my very short list of hard limits, not because it's so painful, but it creates such a mess and I don't want to have to clean it up.

Agree about the mess. Wax play is pretty much a hard limit for me. It’s just hard to get every little bit off of me and I can’t afford to be coming home with little bits of wax I failed to notice.

As a professional, you and Langerr also bring up another valid issue for me. Almost all bodies are covered in hair, some more than others, and picking wax off of these bodies before someone ventures back into the vanilla world is a slow dirge.

Wax picking is a pretty esoteric aftercare request.

The weather this weekend is spectacular, but I am working a lot and posting between sessions. My box flowers are so happy though and that brings a little spring to my dungeon.

I don't do a lot of outcalls. Have you seen my dungeon? It's awesome, super clean, and, at the moment, wax free. (Oh and has pretty flowers in the office window to boot. )

I'll have to weigh my desire to re-expolre wax and keeping my place spotless.

I am that hairy guy. Wax play was fun. Getting it off my back and chest took a lot of time at end of session. Way more than we expected. On the other hand, my head is shaved and smooth, so maybe....

Wax removal is not the kind of aftercare I, or most other guys, are looking for.

To borrow a phrase from Domina M the other day "(Apparently, I love hijacking posts.)" so here goes.

I was a sub to a fine NY metro area Mistress who shared her own dungeon outside of Manhattan in a loft space. The main playroom was part hardwood floors and part carpeting, near the heavy equipment. We did role play, me being my name, a Tarzan type, wearing a leopard print thong. She loved it the roleplay and by the third session or so she suggested I go to a place she knew in Manhattan and buy body makeup for me to wear on my chest, legs, rear end, etc. I had to apply it.

The session began and she had me crawling around attempting to worship her feet, etc. while getting slightly spanked. We went from the hardwood floor to the carpeted area and, to my horror, I realized that the body makeup was all over the carpet. She noticed my distress, suprised and yelled, "Get the vacuum and clean the carpet!" I did, also cleaned the hardwood floor, went to the bathroom and washed all the makeup off me. I thought the session was over.

I went back into the playroom where my clothes were, and silently began to dress. Mistress yelled again, laughing, "What are you doing? I'm not finished with you yet!" Cleaning the floors and myself was NOT as difficult as cleaning wax off as described in this thread. But it proved to be a funny, sensual and really enjoyable session. We learned a lot about each other, which in my experience makes for the best sessions.

Yes I fit the description : hairy and it is definitely a pain to get all those wax bits out
