Honestly, this forum needs new blood. I wouldn't think about annoying the more experienced group -- your perspective as someone younger and new to the scene is what this forum needs to grow and survive in the future. So please post whenever you have something to say.

(I have a hypothesis about why Max went down when it did but I'm not going to share it publicly. I'll just say that the timing was interesting.)

The idea that "social media" has taken over and that is why boards like this aren't getting traffic or dying is not quite right.

This IS social media. It's just that it's circa 2001.

Social media has evolved over time. We started with our email sent to a listserv to be disseminated to everyone subscribed. Then AOL chat rooms -- amazing back in 1995! Hello, IM (icq anyone?) MySpace. Facebook. Twitter. Mastodon.

This bulletin board software was once state of the art but, like all the software before (and after it) people will outgrow it. Sure, there are some people who are still running Windows XP (and I get it!) but most people have moved on.

There are plenty of younger people who are interested in kink and FemDom. The issue is that if they come across a site like this they probably think, "That looks ancient. Why would I use that when I can use Blue Sky?"

When boards like this are completely outgrown we can still have this thing we have here. Some of us do. We're just set up shop in a more modern interface.

This is no disrespect to the value of the board and those who run and participate. It's just the reality of how internet spaces and born and die as people's needs change and technology develops.

I’m a MaxFisch original. I was registration number 49. I’m here but not as much. Mostly because of time. Lots of interesting conversations at Max in its heyday. Watching it slowly dies was painful. Still, I stayed to the end. I probably most miss Madame Cole DeSade. On that board, she was a true great and force of nature. I’m sorry I never met her in person before she retired.

I was on Max from the early 2000's. I fondly remember interactions there with Dommes like Troy Orleans, Janet Spencer and Mistress Wynter (The Scottish Tawse aficionado grin ).....I am sure I am forgetting others.

I was never able to connect in person with Troy or Mistress Wynter but had a couple of memorable sessions with Janet Spencer.....

I guess I was fortunate but I never was exposed to the toxic behavior or bullying on MF that some here complain of.

Domina.ms exists as a FREE service to the community. We would be glad to establish an area for contributions to update our look/format. Who can we count on as our first $1000 dollar donor? Because to completely rework Domina.ms will cost several thousand dollars! The line starts here...

Thank you. Members reported that our original red and white format was difficult to read. Many requested that we use the same layout as the now defunct Maxfisch Hang.

We at Domina.ms believe that while X and Bluesky are a community resource, they will never replace sites like Domina.ms. The Buzz receives a massive amount of hits per month, and costs Dommes Nothing!

The second we believe Domina.ms The Buzz is not relevant We will take it down, and go the way of Max!

To those Members who believe Domina.ms is at death's door, outdated, and antique...

Irrelevant and poised on the very brink of death. X and Bluesky are always an alternative.

Bluesky has it's appeal, but personally it would not if not for having gotten to know the people that I do from MF and DM.

The kind of conversations you can have on web boards you can't really have on microblogging platforms like Bluesky.
