Supposedly 10% or so of those who practice or receive bdsm have injuries, but it is not clear how serious of an injury is meant, in that statistic. Is that merely marks from being caned or whipped?
Below is a a little essay on the ways that bdsm at times results in d*ath, but the problem is that some people just die of stress and their work or exercise can and does k*ll them, at work, or, at the gym!
Well, the whole topic and discussion led me to read a bit more about injuries and d*ath and bdsm and other kinds of d*ath.
If and when a person d*es from bdsm activities, in the majority of cases it is a case of hanging, strangling or choking. Nearly all bdsm deaths are of this type, but there are also some in which the guy/sub has a heart attack.
Strangling and hanging are a different category than suffocation by oronasal occlusion . . .
Someone in a different thread has posted a link to an essay by a medically trained professional who claims that all the other med prof he knows say that no one should do breath play because a person can die unexpectedly of cardiac arrest . . . and he claims to know or know of 2 persons in jail or prison from bdsm breath play.
On that basis, no one should be doing bdsm at all. Here is why.
Heart attacks resulting in death or strokes resulting in death have taken place from *plain old stress* of a DOZEN different kinds. Deadly heart attacks and deadly strokes have happened due to being subjected to pepper spray, confrontation or fighting by police with criminals, or running for a long distance for which your body is not trained and ready.
There is a Yale police officer in the news with his funeral, died allegedly from the stress of several hours of arresting or confronting some criminals, at times in the company of other officers or the FBI or whomever it was that he was helping.
Here is the link about the police officer alleged to have died from the stress of some contact with some irritating criminals!
https://www.ctinsider.com/recordjournal/...al-20228141.phpNow, the guy who ran the first marathon we know of collapsed and died. You know; back in Greece in 490 B.C against the Persians. The Greeks won and sent a messenger to run back to Athens. The messenger got to Athens, told them of the victory, then he just collapsed and died.
Running a marathon will kill some people but it will not kill most people who train for it.
20 years ago a woman was put on trial for bdsm with a sub. The sub was in some medieval type torture chair. There was no allegation of breath play or suffocation . . . but police and pros believe the guy had a heart attack from the stress. At least, the woman is alleged to have confessed and she seems to have described the guy having a heart attack. No conviction cause no body and no DNA was ever found.
One police guy had a stroke that killed him after J6.
There are dommes who do use or have used drowning and have used tasers . . .
So, some dommes might kill a guy by using a taser on him, or pepper spray or whatever?
If using pepper spray on a guy kills him . . . none of the dommes are safe when you cane a guy. Right?
There are videos up out of Eastern Europe and there are reviews of caning or whipping a guy or gal and he passed out . . .
You can k*ll a guy in a lot of accidental ways. Hanging a guy for a while is a way and other than that, even vanilla people who do sex choking will k*ll a person once in a while. I do not recommend or expect strangling and it has not come up with my dommes!
And, oh, by the way, in court, the p** at times is considered a deadly weapon . . . so . . .
bdsm exists because people need it in some ways . . . How do "we" reconcile the "need," emotionally, mentally or spiritually with risks? Well, I do not do or receive strangling! The way people are put out at cplwrestling seems mostly ok, though.
Minor addition. The studies claim that the stress of confronting a resisting or fighting criminal who must be subdued or arrested puts a police officer at 69 times the normal risk of heart attack. . .
AI report on police officer heart attack risks:
Police officers face a significantly higher risk of sudden cardiac death during stressful situations, with some studies indicating a risk 30 to 70 times greater than during routine activities.
Here's a more detailed breakdown:
Stressful Situations:
Police officers are at a much higher risk of sudden cardiac death when involved in stressful situations like suspect restraints, altercations, or chases.
Harvard Study:
A study by the Harvard School of Public Health and Cambridge Health Alliance found that police officers face a 30-70 times higher risk of sudden cardiac death during stressful duties compared to routine or non-emergency activities.
