There is an old, old website called "Laura's Spanking Corner", which hosts a huge collection of spanking stories. I remember visiting it back in the late 90s over dial-up!

The original website is long gone, but luckily, someone purchased the domain thespankingcorner.com and is hosting the last version of the original website. I was hoping to find out if the person who owns the domain would be willing to sell. I was thinking about revitalizing it.

On a related note, can anyone advise me of the best place to post spanking stories nowadays?

When you say "spanking" are you referring to bare bottom, over the knee/domestic discipline type stuff?

That's not my thing so I can't point you in a specific direction. Gromet's Plaza and BDSM Library are continually publishing stuff but they seem often to be more severe BDSM stories featuring, heavy bondage, latex, slave training, captivity, various types pain play etc etc .....

Although, Gromet's seems to run the gambit from light and playful to full on fantasy such as various extreme activities in a NC or captive or kidnapped type scenario.

Last I heard, LSC was currently owned and moderated by a group of spanko fans by way of a free website host so getting ahold of them may be harder than you expect. Literotica has a phenomenal tab of spanking stories, and have a user friendly interface should you want to share your own for free.
