Great hearing from you! You bring up some excellent points here. There is a huge difference between the pre-pandemic and post-pandemic periods, when it comes to the pro scene. The life style you describe, where you see two or three different Dommes simultaneously, seems pre-pandemic to me. The scene lost a lot while it was shut down and folks couldn't play. Many subs (myself included) didn't feel it was safe until vaccinations became available. Many Dommes retired during that time. Right before the pandemic, I was in a transition period during which I was seeing three Dommes myself. Two of them retired. I stayed in touch with MVC during the pandemic and we got together once we were both vaccinated. I have been exclusive with her ever since and I'm extremely happy. I have no desire to see anyone else, but even if I did my choices would be extremely limited and having already found the perfect Mistress for me, it would be a let down to see someone I felt lukewarm about. At that point, I would probably just retire from the scene. It seems like there aren't as many opportunities to play out there as there used to be and subs are lucky if they're seeing one Domme they really like at this point. In a way the entire scene has drifted toward monogamy, whether we like it or not. If we find someone great in this post-pandemic period, our instinct is to hang on to that special person and keep seeing them, or so it seems to me. I've heard from other subs who have similar complaints.

You also mentioned that you prefer Dommes who are over forty. I'm a salty dog myself and tend to skew older in my preferences these days too. I find more genuine communication is possible with someone closer to my own age (though she is still much much younger than I am! ) It wouldn't be the same with a twenty-something. I wouldn't get her cultural references and she probably wouldn't get mine. There is a great deal to be said for seeing someone experienced who possesses some wisdom and emotional maturity. My cut off is thirty.
