Also for those on here in France or who appreciate 1950s era American humorous conceptions of France, Thanksgiving is never complete without reading this, which originally appeared in November 1952 in the International Herald Tribune, an Enlgish language newspaper published in Paris for Americans abroad: "Chacun à son goût on Thanksgiving" https://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/22/opinion/22iht-edbuch.html
