Curious as to how much protocol or extensive rules you like incorporated in a session?

While I don't identify as a slave I enjoy being placed under a fairly extensive regime of rules and requirements during a session.

Things like speech restrictions or being limited to "Yes Mistress", "No Mistress", "Thank you Mistress"... waiting for the Domme on my knees with forehead on the floor, kissing the toes of her boots when she enters the room or not being allowed to stand erect but rather being required to crawl everywhere all serve to remind me of my position, her power over me and to set the tone of a session. I find these demonstrations of her control allow me to slip into the right head space for a session.

This is especially true if I know that the slightest error or deviation will result in a punishment. Having lots of rules (all rigorously enforced) is central to the power exchange for me. It is an important part to the psychological part of the session.

i feel this way too -- protocols that really reinforce both the power exchange and which express through physical action the dynamic are really important, appreciated and fascinating for me ....many years ago i dabbled in "Gorean" which involves lots of positions to assume in response to commands and that seemed to me a bit unnatural and did not have the same effect.

I can do high protocol, but not a fan of it. I’d rather be with dominant, free-wheeling, fun “girl bullies” who make me their, well, bitch. Preferably using that term.

I agree on the Gorean thing. Just a little too complex and involved for my taste. While I find kneeling forehead on the floor while waiting for the session to begin a great way to transition I wouldn't want to be repeatedly placed in required poses. I think it would be time consuming and distracting from other types of play that interest me more.

I also like the idea of instructions for pre session preparation. That can hugely boost the sense of anticipation.

I do like a dispassionate and matter of fact review of rules as the session begins. I once played with a Domme who, after placing me in restraints, laid out a selection of her "favorite" CP implements. She showed me each implement while going over the rules, describing it's characteristics and severity. As she explained each rule she gave me 2-3 hard strikes saying she wanted to be sure I understood the consequences of breaking any rule.

It immediately established her authority and I found the process extremely hot.

Well, I don’t know about delightful but it certainly focused my attention .
That short, sharp demonstration left me with no question about who was in charge or about what my position was.

I would tend to agree with OC. I could probably follow a set of rules if I had to (probably) but I’ll take a good old fashioned bully beat down every day of the week and twice on Sunday

I will say one of my favorite things about this board is it really shows “different strokes for different folks” (pun fully intended) and that there isn’t a single way to kink. I really enjoy hearing about aproaches and experiences that are so vastly different than mine.

It depends on the individual that Im playing with, as well as my own mood, quite frankly. If I know that high protocol helps them get into the headspace that they’re craving to be in, then there’s no doubt that I’ll be utilizing that.

I like to discuss pre scene common sense guidelines for safety and sanity purposes.
