Go to a Domme that lists this as a specialty, not one that'll just say yes to doing it.

Tell your Domme if you have any surgeries, metal in you, pacemaker, etc. This seems obvious but people have forgot with me before.

If a Domme puts a sticky pad anywhere on or near your nipples, immediately ask to avoid that area. Yes, some people will say there are "safe" ways to do this but... I would just hard limit it to be safe. Wands and other objects are fine by the nipples, pads that stick arent.

Sometimes it can hurt and your jerk-reaction is to pull a sticky pad off-- do not do that. Do not remove a pad without permission.

No issue with combining TD. The only play I avoid with electro off the top of my head is tight shibari.

Lots to unpack here. Firstly, Domina Lynx gives good advice, especially about safety. Electroplay, especially at higher intensities, certainly falls under RACK and requires knowledge.

Your question wasn't entirely clear. Are you interested in this solely on the erotic/teasing/edging end of the scale or did you want to explore the pain/punishment/torture end of the spectrum as well? The instant intensity of electroplay can be an interesting counterpoint to the eroticism of other forms of teasing or edging. Having a Domme go back and forth between the two can be amazing!

I've experienced both (including an Erostek at it's highest setting......accidentally but that's another story ) and while I really enjoy electro being part of a session it can certainly fall under the "love to hate" heading sometimes.

The best advice I can give is find a Domme with experience and a good selection of equipment. Power boxes by Folsom, PES or Erostek (probably the gold standard) are some names to look for. There are a bewildering array of attachments that can be used with these for cock and ball, anal or nipple play in addition to sticky pads. Nipple play is somewhat controversial as it violates the "nothing above the waist" rule for safety (concern over heart interaction). Some feel bipolar nipple clips are safe as the current only passes for a fraction of an inch through the nipple between the two sides of the clip but as always.....RACK. Do your research and make your own judgement with regard to safety

Electroplay can be amazing on both the pleasure and punishment ends of the spectrum but it requires good equipment and a skilled operator.

One final piece of advice.....You will NOT be able to control your reactions/movements if you choose explore higher settings. Secure bondage and a rubber gag that is mindful of this can actually be an aid to safety.

I would not let a Domme with 1 year in the dungeon do electroplay on me, especially when it's not on her profile. The "training" some dungeons have is laughable.

Ask her what electro equipment she'll be using. If its just a wand with some glass attachments, you're probably fine. It's hard to mess that up unless she uses a body attachment.

If it's a tens unit, erostek, etc, I would skip it. I've seen inexperienced Dommes hurt people with those.

I agree with Domme Lynx. Electricity is something you want to see someone who has been trained on it. Like most things BDSM, it's not that difficult, but someone has to show you how to do it. As with, say, rope bondage, safety is pretty apparent once someone points it out to you, but it may not be on the mind of a newcomer.

Then, just because someone knows how to use electrics safely doesn't mean they have it down. It can take years to master the nuances. T&D with electrics is a pretty nuanced type of play. One has to be aware of the electrical wavelength to know what sensation it produces. It's easy to ZAP-ZAP you, but to find that razor's edge of tingly stimulation takes some know-how.

I hadn't considered it but your point about T&D with electrics is a good one. In my experience the pleasurable part of the electro play spectrum is a fairly narrow one between "can't feel much" and "OMG, can't take it!". Combine that with the way people all seem to have different tolerance points for electricity and it takes a Domme with skill and experience to thread the needle.

It's far less challenging to tie someone down, wire them up and then crank the power levels until they are struggling against the restraints and screaming into the gag.

I just "upgraded" from my ancient ErosTek 312 to an ElectraStim Duo Flic. It's a great little device and super easy to use, but I regret not getting the higher-end model. (This will soon be corrected.) It has some nice settings, but I can't adjust the wavelength. Since everyone is different, it's helpful to find each person's balance of "tingly" and "stingy."
