Sounds like you have had a great mix of experiences. Do you prefer one approach, or did you feel it went better with the domina's style?

How soon before the session do you feel subspace? When you leave for the session? Walking down the hall? Knocking on the door?

In my case, no talking with this lady except for a call from the hotel lobby to get the room number. Yes... kind of weird or risky, come to think of it.

Domina M, in terms of the "slow build" I recall when I used to session in dungeons sometimes an assistant or a Mistress would put you into the room and tell you to undress/prepare for the session. Talk about a "slow build," I recall a few occasions where I was getting undressed, then kneeling half naked and waiting for the Mistress to enter I almost began to shiver when I'd hear the sound of her walking in high heels on hardwood floors. By the time the Mistress opened the door I was like putty in her hands.

Most dramatically I served Empress Dominique of NJ in the late '90s for a couple of years doing basically seductive role play and a fetish or two. Nothing extensive. I eventually was allowed me to session in her ground floor apt. The building was like a brownstone with her entrance under the stoop, which featured a wrought iron gate and a front door a few steps away. On a warm day I arrived, rang the bell and I only began hearing the distinctive sound of backless high heels coming to the gate after what seemed like an hour, but it was only a minute or two.

She was wearing black backless high heels, black corset and bustier and a long black see-though negligee. I could see her, but no one on the street could, given the angle of the doorway. "Follow me my pet and lock the gate and the door," and we went inside. During the session she didn't have me do much, since I was practically drooling, in shock and in deep subspace just from her entrance. LOL!

My sessions almost always center around ballbusting. For years, most Dommes I played with would always start super soft, slow. I always felt that never really helped my head space as I was always obsessing/worrying about what was to come. Lately I’ve asked Dommes to just start hard. I’ve found I end up in a much deeper sub space by the end of the session and most of the Dommes I’ve asked seem to find it quite entertaining to start the session with a hard kick to the nuts. lol.

If I know the domme well, I generally prefer the “pounce and attack” start. But it does depend on the domme’s style. Mistress Chloe enjoys milking the anticipation as much as possible and conducts herself so elegantly that such a “pounce” approach would seem … unseemly. But if she were to, then I’d happily go with it.

And yes, I’ve already had a lifetime of great experiences—more than 200 over 30 years, including 4 spectacular dommes I saw (or see) over and over again. I’ve been blessed.

When I was much younger it started earlier. There were 2 instances where my subspace kept me from getting to sleep the night before.
