I didn't attend. Like most Parisians, I expected the games to be a total crushing shitshow and crowds of tourists—no thanks. It was apparently hard to see everything from any one vantage point. I went to a BDSM night at a bar--review to follow.

The massive price gouging definitely scared the locals away and a lot of potential visitors. I'm not in the center-center, and it feels like a ghost town. Businesses are not getting the influx of cash they thought. Metro tickets are still twice the cost of normal.

On the positive side, I stocked up my metro app with rides before the price spike, and people who bought event tickets with plans of a big return are practically giving them away. I attended the BMX racing finals last Friday, and I'll see the skateboarding finals on Wednesday. The fun festival vibe is totally worth it.

I don't have any American flag shirts or accessories. I feel a little embarrassed.
