First it was backpage that felt the heat from credit card companies - supposedly due to pressure from politicians. (We all know how that ended.) Now the card processors turn on FetLife.

Here in the UK there is a really dodgy law called the DE Bill which is most certainly likely to go through very soon. From what I've heard, similar to what they're proposing in the US.

The DE Bill is another "save the children" crusade against the adult industry. But it will impose verifying the identities of people who use adult sites. Not only will this info be stored in a national data base and subject to another Ashley Madison style hack, but and all data will be available to authorities. But this won't be limited to just porn...basically, if you use the internet in the UK, all of your data will be policed and trackable by "The State". Its estimated over 4 million sites will be at risk of being shut down under this law.

Its all very Orwellian.

Hello Lady Bellatrix. I had heard rumblings about legal changes regarding the adult industry in the UK, but I had no idea it was this serious. Orwellian indeed!

I am getting really pissed at all this non-sense when it has nothing to do with "protecting the children" or anything like that.
