You folks have the news that etsy is banning or restricted adult novelty or bdsm or other items. Basically there is a category of banned items and another category of restricted items that cannot be shown in an obvious way.

One of the interesting items on etsy is the vampire paddle but there are probably lots of forms of the vampire paddle. Anyway, some genius has put a dozen little prongs into the paddle so that it seems it is more or less guaranteed that is will draw blood shortly.

Anyone see that or made use of such a paddle or received swats from a vampire paddle?

Lets see if I can find some of the images. I assume some people would end up screaming if hit with this, but I do not know! I also suppose you should really not hit that hard. Maybe I am wrong!

I think I am skilled but I am positive I could not use that without leaving marks. I see someone maaaaayyyybe once every few years who can have marks. Most of my time is spent trying to inflict punishment without a trace after. That's a cool piece that would gather dust in my dungeon, unfortunately.

I have no first hand experience but I wonder if that implement isn't more about the idea than the actual effect. I'm sure the pins would leave marks and perhaps even a few drops of blood but I'm not sure the strikes would actually hurt a lot more or perhaps even as much as a cane or one of the more severe rubber implements.

As far as marks go I was a little surprised at DominaM's comment about almost never having clients who can have marks. While I understand the reasons I'm surprised she sees virtually no clients for whom marks are OK.

My rule has always been as long as they only last a week or so marks that are hidden by street clothes (say on ass or upper thighs) are fine.

My biggest issues over the years have come from marks on wrists, neck or face from cuffs, rope, collars or gag straps that would be visible when dressed...... even if they only last for a few hours or a day or so.

DominaM's comment has made me curious as to whether I am actually that much of a rarity when it comes to marks?

Rarely can someone have marks. Most often, it is because of a partner, but I still have to be careful with my own monogamous partner, who is very active in the gym and swimming. I don't want his gym buddies to know about our private life, either.

An interesting comment. I have told prodommes a number of times that I am open to whips or other lash-implements if they could limit the targets to what is covered up by a pair of gym shorts.

None have taken me up on that.

If a professional with your pedigree is unsure of that issue, my guess is they are too and didn't want to take the risk.

Years ago an acupuncturist asked about some marks on my upper back. I *think* they were from a cat-o-nine tails, very faint. I just said I did not know, perhaps from branches when I was walking in the foods. The acupuncturist was very cool and did not say anything.

It night be fun to intentionally ask for a flogging some day and when a professional asks about the marks to just say "Oh that is where my dominatrix whipped me". Ha ha.

I work out at home and speed walk for cardio so I guess that makes me an outlier.

Totally off topic but the time and effort of driving to a gym, getting changed, working out, showering, getting dressed and then driving home or to the office always seemed like a waste of a lot of time to me.

Obviously a different story for people living in a small space or for those who like to swim.

I used to love speed walking. Sadly my knees disagreed with it.

I've always tried to pick gyms that were halfway home from work.

I would stop on my home from work to work out. I discovered early on if I go home first it is a psychological sand trap from which I will not leave.
