I have no first hand experience but I wonder if that implement isn't more about the idea than the actual effect. I'm sure the pins would leave marks and perhaps even a few drops of blood but I'm not sure the strikes would actually hurt a lot more or perhaps even as much as a cane or one of the more severe rubber implements.

As far as marks go I was a little surprised at DominaM's comment about almost never having clients who can have marks. While I understand the reasons I'm surprised she sees virtually no clients for whom marks are OK.

My rule has always been as long as they only last a week or so marks that are hidden by street clothes (say on ass or upper thighs) are fine.

My biggest issues over the years have come from marks on wrists, neck or face from cuffs, rope, collars or gag straps that would be visible when dressed...... even if they only last for a few hours or a day or so.

DominaM's comment has made me curious as to whether I am actually that much of a rarity when it comes to marks?
