smothering and consumption

I am browsing through some of the clips of a domme who does FT. In one clip she mentions using smothering or choking along the way to enforce consumption, but it seems that most mistress do not mention that or it is not on their clips . . . It seems that the usual way is to either push the s**t in and punish the guy if he is reluctant with caning or whipping.
Is it common or uncommon for a domme to use smothering when doing FTT? Also, since some guys cry during FTT, is part of the reason that they have been smothered and are just barely surviving and out of it?
What smothering, if any, have you given or received?
