I couldnt find a thread on tipping but thought it could be an interesting topic.

Ive always tipped for a session and i have a pretty standard approach i do an extra 50-100 per hour and tip at the start of the session along with the session fee. I normally say something like “ i really appreciate our tome together and tried to add a little extra”. I try not to be cheesy about it. My goal is always to show appreciation and not get anything extra but i do think this approach has led to better sessions even if its subconscious on her part.

What do others do with tipping?

First let me say that I pretty much only session with established independent Dommes rather than at 'houses'.

I view indi Pro Dommes as professionals free to set their own fees, much like a lawyer, accountant or a skilled trades person. I really don't feel tipping is appropriate or needed any more than it is for other professionals you have hired at an agreed upon rate. I don't "top up" my lawyer's or accountant's invoice.

Having said that, I will sometimes bring a gift of wine, perfume, chocolate or other small item from a Domme's wishlist if she provides one on her website.....especially for Dommes I have sessioned with often and am friendly with....( more as a token of respect and admiration than a financial transaction)

It varies a bit for me. I have someone I see regularly who I always give extra to. I always just include that upfront. We never talk about it. She drives about an hour to see me and usually stays for a couple hours with no definitive pre set amount of time. So I’ve always felt extra was appropriate

For others, I would say I tip maybe 70% of the time and always at the end. I usually target about a 15% to 20% tip but it depends a bit on the session. If I’ve really enjoyed myself and felt it was an awesome session then I always tip.

I bounce a bit these days between seeing pro Dommes and seeing kinky escorts. I only mention this because their rates per hour can be quite different I find I tip Dommes more often than I tip escorts, but that’s not a hard and fast rule on my part.

Is that because the session rate for Dommes is more or less than kinky escorts?

I'm not a fan of the tipping structure. As an independent, I set my rates where they should be and, openly, didn't accept tips. However, in a tipping situation, I agree with Spark. Just get the money out of the way and enjoy the escape.

Tbh it varies but for me, the escorts I see tend to have higher prices than Dommes.

Dommes experienced and willing in heavy impact are rare, yes I ABSOLUTELY tip known compatible players. In the envelope--nothing said, nothing expected. Just a gesture of appreciation.

I don't usually tip independents, although I have in a few cases where I knew they provide outstanding sessions, or when their rate was well below the level of Dommes of their quality. They deserved it.

I always include it in the envelop prior to the session and never say anything about it. One time I gave her cash after the session and that felt tacky to me. YMMV

I will confess to being inconsistent when it comes to tipping. When I do tip it is at the end of the session and depends on how much I enjoyed the session. For some reason I got in the habit of not tipping disciplinarians early on and that has persisted.

That kind of lines up with my thoughts. Dommes are professionals. They set their fees at the level they are happy to do the session for. The only time i would consider a tip would be after a session where the Domme went above and beyond. Even then, I would be more inclined to send her a gift from her wish list afterwards as a token of appreciation.
