I am a member of XBiz and sometimes they plop jewels in my inbox. Evidently Twitter suspended Clips4Sale and some other adult industry accounts over the weekend. A poster recommended taking these preventative actions.

Download your Twitter followers list. It's gonna be a long, tedious job to try and reconnect with your followers, in case you got banned, but one option is better than nothing. To get your followers list:

Go to www.Twitter.com and Log in.
On the left pane of the landing page, click ‘More’.
After that, click on ‘Settings and privacy’.
Click ‘Your Account’
Click ‘Download an archive of your data’
Enter your password to initiate the process.

Supposedly their reason for suspending the accounts is that they appear to be spam bots - posting and re-tweeting without any interaction. But that is bogus because there are plenty of non-adult entities that do that. Just be careful.

This is very helpful. My sites have long given up on Twitter as a viable marketing resource. But, sounds like they are even more over the top now. It is surprising that years ago, when it was obvious this was coming, that someone didn't start an alternative for Twitter. It sounds like it is only going to continue to get worse. By the way, they are going after XVideos in the same way they did porn hub.

When Sesta/Fosta happened a few years ago, someone created Switter as an alternative around 2018. Everyone jumped on that bandwagon, but then they had a lot of technical glitches.

I saw on Twitter that a lot of people were going back. So I checked it out and my old account was still there. Seems to be a lot of recent activity in light of all the suspensions.

In short, it seems like they're cracking down on certain TOS violations and spammy behavior. It's affecting Youtubers and Streamers outside the adult industry as well so it's not even entirely directed at us.

Keeping your PFP/header PG is important, so is flagging yourself as sensitive content. Twitter haaaaates autotweets (this is why YouTubers and streamers are getting banned) so it's a good idea to remove previous autotweets in addition to disabling them.

Twitter also considers "backup accounts" a form of ban evasion and will ban people who openly advertise them. It's not against the rules to have multiple accounts especially if they're for different purposes, but if you call it a "backup account" or treat it like one you're much likelier to get booted.

I'm putting the word out so we can all get behind the Switter and push it. One of my friends, who has a sizable following on Twitter just signed up. She has a few questions. I invited her to join this discussion forum so everyone can all pull together and support a platform that supports us.

I signed up for Switter back in 2018 when we thought an all out ban on Twitter and other social media was inevitable due to FOSTA/SESTA. I posted there for several months but it never took off because people wouldn't leave Twitter as long as it was there. Kind of like this forum and MF.

They are promoting smuttyfy.com on XXBiz. It appears to be a viable option, but I think unless Twitter puts an enforced ban on adult content, these sites will have a hard time getting impetus. There are options, we just won't use them.

Agreed. As I'm semi retired, I didn't pay much mind to it. However this goes, it will have little affect on me. But, as I'm seeing how impactful this is getting for the young doms who are still active, I'm on board in every way that I can be helpful. I wish that I had been paying more attention early on.

For whatever it is worth, I'm inviting the active doms I'm close with to join this site so they can stay up on this discussion. A few I spoke to this evening have joined Switter. ClubDom and SubbyHubby are setting up a presence there. I'm going to reach out to Neil of C4S and get his advise on how to push things forward. He's mostly retired too but keeps his eyes on what is going on.

Now that things are coming down hard on a lot of ladies and there are so many drastic changes doing on, you will probably see the support you should have had in the first place. Perhaps, we should ask the admin here to start a different topic area. I've no idea if pulling people together for a central place to share information will take off or not. But, maybe.

Yes, I also agree. Until we are all actively banned on Twitter, platforms like Switter probably won't take off to the extent that mainstream has.

I have locked my Twitter account for a while so I now have to manually allow who follows me. It has been an interesting experiment. For the first time I realised how many lurkers there are. Those types with no profile pix that never engage with anyone they follow. They're just there to dip in, look at the free porn and dip out.

Even if a lot of well known or historical adult accounts get suspended (permanently or temporarily) it won't make a lot of difference to a majority of followers long term. This demographic will simply seek out the next best account that fuels their interest in free entertainment. Of course our die hard fans will follow us anywhere we go next, but the masses wouldn't.
