What experiences have you folks had with mood elevation resulting from caning and whipping, if any? That is either as a domme or a guy?

I had lunch yesterday (2/29/16) with a Christian friend of mine and this particular Christian friend of mine is depressed and has been depressed in more or less degree for years. Anyway it reminded me of the amateur "study" I have done (meaning, reading articles and stories on the Net) re spanking, caning, whipping and depression.

In the spanking subset of bdsm, there are or seem to be dozens of givers and receivers who claim that being spanked elevates their mood and prevents or eliminates depression and certain poor moods.

Here, at maxfisch or domina, many of us include some spanking or caning but it is not the main discussion topic and perhaps not even the main choice on the menu for some of us, whether domme or sub, with a few exceptions.

I have a tremendous mood elevation after a good caning. I can think much faster, colors look brighter (especially yellow) and I get a "floaty" feeling. The effect takes 20 minutes to peak, and lasts about 6 hours. I generally take about 10 strokes with a sjambok on the bare behind, delivered full force by a tennis champion! All of the pain vanishes after about 2 minutes as the endorphins kick in. If I was feeling sad, the sadness vanishes immediately. Luckily I do not suffer from clinical depression, though.

Because of the job I do, I can earn a lot more money when in this condition, and of course both my SO and I enjoy the extra cash! Some people think it is gross to use masochism to "up my game", but we are both cool with it. In fact I wonder how many politicians do this (not counting the ones that get caught!).

Does anybody else see brighter colors? BTW I was born with defective color vision (mild red/green color blindness), but have never tested myself after a good caning!

I am not a big corporal punishment fan. However, I do suffer it to please a Mistress who is into it. I've had my cock and balls caned several times by Empress Ming and it always leaves me in a heightened state.
