If you apprentice to someone and they teach you BDSM, they teach you knots and how to throw a whip, how to take care of your leather, not to cane the coccyx etc. But ultimately your style is your own. So you still have room to grow and change beyond your apprenticeship.

Now I would say that all dommes from the most sadistic to the most sensual do something sexual for us whether it is sexual or the traditional sense or sexual in our minds eye. It's up to the Domme to decide if she's ok with sexual and if shes not, what her line is. Everything I say here says more about my perception than the reality of the Domme.

It is pretty moot to talk about what is sexual and what is not, especially here. Everyone has different boundaries, but I think in essence what we're getting to here is a discussion about what behaviors are "truly dominant" and what are not. I think this is equally subjective and hence, equally moot, as every submissive has their own feelings about what is dominant behavior.
