That was CES, and my experience paying a visit to "the other side" was similar to yours - not much for me there. But back then, it was a real trade show, with film makers looking for distributors and equipment makers looking for dealers and publications where they can advertise. It wasn't about dommes promoting themselves. That's what DomCon is, as far as I can tell - I've never attended.

I remember meeting Irene Boss there. If I remember correctly, she had some soft of hypnotism setup that she was showing. We had a nice little chat - she impressed me as a really smart businesswoman.

There is a little cross over with AVN. A few years ago a ClubDom video was nominated in a fetish related category. I didn't attend but the mention was cool. Years ago I went to AVN to help a fellow dom with her booth. The convention was mainly porn but, bdsm had a reasonable presence. There is a bdsm party, mainly femdom, this year that has a lot of people excited.

If there hadn't been such a crack down on bdsm videos, we probably could have had our own version of AVN by now. Odd how a video showing an 18 year old girl having an anal gang bang with a room full of men is okay but, a 30 year old man hanging upside down by his ankles for a whipping isn't with a fully clothed woman isn't.

I wasn't aware that there had been a crackdown on BDSM videos. Could your elaborate on that topic? Has pressure come down from LE, or is it more of a matter of self-censorship? Just curious.

I think LE could care less. At least, I've never been on a set where anything illegal has been going on. The issue has come from credit cared processors. It started getting bad about 10 years ago and, has been escalating since. The only folks who really seem to care about the censorship are the banks and, that is probably coming from their financial backers. One of the reasons that C4S has been so successful is that the owner learned to play the credit card processing game early one. He has spent a lot of money setting up overseas processing accounts, so that if one goes bad, he's got another to fall back on. Some times the credit card processors who accept bdsm content disappear and, take video producers money with them. That happened to me with Ibill about 15 years. I lost at least 20k but, other people lost much more. C4S has mastered cc processing. Most folks with websites use CCbill. They are a great company. But, every year, Visa billing does an audit of the websites. Sites like Pornhub will put up outrageously obscene sex videos but not allow a decent bull whipping. Pirates are making more money off FemDom videos than the ladies who made them these days. Hopefully, that explains, without too much information. :-)
