If you take my advice to migrate and delete your address book in Yahoo, keep a copy of that address book somewhere in case things go south with your new email address. The thing about protonmail is that since it is encrypted the emails in your account may not be searchable.

Unfortunately the update is not good. I messed around in Outlook for a couple hours and just went around in circles. I’m not very tech savvy and it’s frustrating. I don’t have filters and I have like .1 used of available space so I can’t understand the problem. I feel I’m missing something obvious but can’t think what it could be. It appears I’m not going to be able to get back into my yahoo email so I will try to create a proton mail and see how that goes. I appreciate all the suggestions.

Email your ISP. Sometimes they filter what they think is spam so it never reaches your email software.

If you also have a gmail set up on your computer or laptop, you might have passwords saved into a "password manager," already on your computer. Have you checked or heard about that?

My ISP has terrible customer service and I don’t think that’s the problem. I’ve created a proton email. I’ll still mess around with the outlook problem but I’m not optimistic. Frustrating but not the end of the world.

The problem isn’t a password problem. It’s that yahoo wants a 2 step verification that I can’t give them unless my backup Outlook email starts receiving emails.

Can you tell Yahoo to give you another means of 2 step authentication? Texting you at a phone number, or using an authentication app?
