I recently got a Tesla without fully understanding it's tracking features. Now it has become a problem when visiting dommes and doing sessions because my location is always shared with whoever drives this car. Have you guys dealt with such a situation?

Also, to setup a session, I would call dungeons from inside my old car, which is the most private location. With Tesla it is hard to do that.

Also, I am thinking of getting a second EV. Which cars should I be avoiding to prevent tracking?

I would get an old car with no blue tooth or GPS.

I was think about trading in my Old Chevy, but now you have me reconsidering.

I can definitely empathise although I don’t have this problem with a car per se but rather with all the tracking on phones and different apps sharing location and information between me and my wife. I believe I am pretty careful about having all location sharing turned off or denied but it’s still a concern in the back of my mind because it’s easy to miss something.

i dont have that problem in my life but tbh, if one needs to keep location or message data fully private, having a dedicated "burner phone" -- not just a separate number but a separate device and ideally a separate Android or Apple account -- distinct from the device and account used for professional or family life.

I agree with this advice, and have given it for more than 20 years, but there are still considerations & downsides to that as well. Besides making life a pain in the ass if you ever go beyond just sessioning, what is your story if someone finds the 2nd phone or sees yiu using it. If location tracking is your concern then what do you do with your main phone when you go to a session? Shut it off? Then how do you explain why it was shut off (I once had a situation where my mom was in the hospital and doing fine when I left then suddenly had a life-threatening turn while I was in session & that phone was turned off (we actually even had plans to go out after the session & I had to beg off of that to figure out what I was going to do to get home since I was in Atlanta & I live in Detroit). Luckily, by the time I got back home, nothing had changed (although my mom was in a coma for 3 weeks after) but even today that incident is a big deal within my family.

I agree but in my case it’s just not practical. the risk of having a burner phone found far outweighs the positives. Basically there is no safe place to hide it where it would be in any way accessible to use. One thing I admit I am lazy about is clearing history and signing out of websites from my phone. it’s rare my wife handles my phone but I should be better about that.

I'm with you on that. My 2014 Range Rover & 2016 Acura are getting to be old gals in car years. But, I love the simplicity of older cars. I recently gave my 2008 mini van to my brother. He loves it.

I wonder if you can get a new car and have tracking features and other spyware removed the way you can choose options?

I have many years left in my current car. Is it possible to buy a high end car and/or an EV without spyware built in? If not, is it possible/free to have it removed by a new car dealership?
